A Poem by Kristin Withers

Now Base

I’ve a body — hypnotically,
wandering amidst idolatry
I was called away by saints—I wake

up from my dream & was found explained
by scales—marbling stare a cradling
sound so I’m found out—of

doubt nestling the blue—we were
rearranged inside & ordered are you
inside or are you outside
—I know this

puzzle—how
exactly—no less immaculate
bedfellow—it was my house built

unarchitectured—I wake
up from my dream with wrinkles to bathe
-in-
